Now
in its 20th year, the Oregon Cabaret Theatre has
earned a reputation for top-flight musicals, revues
and comedies - all professionally produced with
its signature flair and panache. The shows are
presented in an elegant nightclub setting housed
in a magnificently restored and renovated Baptist
church building, complete with stained glass windows
and a crystal chandelier from a vintage movie
palace.
The
River was opened in 1998 to provide a home for
the arts: theatrical, visual, and musical. It
is housed in a Uniontown District vintage building
which has been converted to a 93-seat Black Box
theater. Their seasons include five main productions,
live music events, traveling play companies, live
radio shows, dance concerts, benefits for other
non-profits in the community, workshops, poetry
readings and much more!
Having
it's first performance in 1935, and renown for
their location, atmosphere and tradition, The
Oregon Shakespeare Festival is regarded by many
as one of the best Shakespearian Festivals to
be found. Along with the enjoyment of the productions,
every OSF playgoer has the opportunity to learn
more about the plays, the theatrical process and
the art of being human in special classes provided
by the festival.
