The kick off celebration!

Most of the Capitol Events are free. Some of the events for the day include refreshments, Oregon's official dance - square dancing, choir performances, candle making, gift bags for kids, and much more.

A New Exhibit Celebrating Oregon's 150th : Facing Statehood
February 14 - May 23, 2010

The Facing Statehood exhibition is Mission Mill Museum's contribution to the celebration of Oregon's sesquicentennial.

Discover the cultures, people and events that were part of Oregon's early history, while you consider the importance Oregonians have always placed on the free exchange of ideas, many leading to social and legislative innovations that have had an effect on the entire nation.

To Oregon's Sesquicentennial, the $2.00 admission charge for teachers and chaperones has been waived for the remainder of the 2008-2009 school year. Parents are encouraged to experience their interactive, hands-on School Tour with their child at no cost and see the amazing transformation the Museum has undergone.

TCPM is celebrating the sesquicentennial of Oregon statehood with their "Oregon at Statehood." exhibit that will run until November.

Becoming Oregon: A Printed History
Sunday, April 26, 2009
1-2:30 p.m.

In this program, Robert Hamm will share primary sources - newspapers, woodcuts, accurate and inaccurate maps, and early photographs - from the Lewis and Clark Expedition to the Lewis and Clark Exposition.

Space at library programs is limited. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Great Oregon Tree Plant - Tillamook
April 4 - 5, 2009

The Tillamook Forest Center is playing a part in Oregon's Sesquicentennial by hosting a tree planting celebration during the weekend of April 4th and 5th. It is timed with Oregon Arbor Week and the Tillamook Forest Center's third anniversary. You are invited to join the largest reforestation effort of its time.
