This nationally recognized annual event celebrates
the cranberry with everything from their 2nd annual

an Ag-Venture Park with activities such as Scarecrow

read . . . books! The 2nd Annual Florence Festival
of Books on October 6th is an opportunity for
authors and publishers to present their books
and information to the public. Large and small
publishers are welcome and fiction, non-fiction,
and children's authors are welcome as well as
young authors. While most participants will be
from western Oregon, authors and publishers from
further afar are welcome.
This
is an opportunity for book lovers to meet the
authors, chat with them, and to have their books
signed. And this is an opportunity for aspiring
authors to meet with experienced authors and publishers
on a one-to-one basis.

year’s theme is “Rockin’ the Rokkaku!” The festival
will include kite flying demonstrations by experts,
including Connor Doran, a finalist in 2010 on
the top-rated NBC series, America’s Got Talent!
The weekend includes featured flyers, family-friendly
activities like kite-making, a kid’s kite parade,
a Rokkaku (six-sided kite) aerial battle with
past national champion Ronda Brewer, and a mass
ascension.

in 1997, the Art Harvest Studio Tour of Yamhill
County has become the artful way to explore Oregon's
Wine Country and the creativity tucked among its
hillsides. This self-guided studio tour, presented
by the Arts Alliance of Yamhill County, features
40 local artists who create ceramics, paintings,
jewelry, photography, fiber art, copper work,
book art, paper cutting, sculpture and much more.
Visitors create their own itinerary, stopping
by as many studios as they can during the six-day
event which takes place the first two weekends

and 12. Workshop registration runs through August

$25. The workshop session is two hours long. Scheduled
