Annual Bandon Cranberry Festival

This nationally recognized annual event celebrates the cranberry with everything from their 2nd annual Cranberry Eating Contest to a Queen of the Kitchen competition. Cranberry City, a vendor market and a Cranberry Parade will also be featured.

Independence Hop & Heritage Festival

The 2nd Annual Florence Festival of Books on October 6th is an opportunity for authors and publishers to present their books and information to the public. Large and small publishers are welcome and fiction, non-fiction, and children's authors are welcome as well as young authors. While most participants will be from western Oregon, authors and publishers from further afar are welcome.

This is an opportunity for book lovers to meet the authors, chat with them, and to have their books signed. And this is an opportunity for aspiring authors to meet with experienced authors and publishers on a one-to-one basis.

Annual Art Harvest Studio Tour of Yamhill County
Yamhill County

Established in 1997, the Art Harvest Studio Tour of Yamhill County has become the artful way to explore Oregon's Wine Country and the creativity tucked among its hillsides. This self-guided studio tour, presented by the Arts Alliance of Yamhill County, features 40 local artists who create ceramics, paintings, jewelry, photography, fiber art, copper work, book art, paper cutting, sculpture and much more. Visitors create their own itinerary, stopping by as many studios as they can during the six-day event which takes place the first two weekends of October. At each studio they are encouraged to ask questions, watch demonstrations and purchase work directly from each artist

Annual "Meet the Pioneers"
Jacksonville - Southern Oregon

Special evening walking tours where visitors will be greeted by the Spirits of Jacksonville's early pioneers and settlers. Meet these early "movers and shakers" up close and personal, and hear their interesting and fascinating stories of life in and around Jacksonville during the mid to late 1800's. This juried art show features paintings, photography, sculpture and mixed media.

Register Now for September Digital Workshops - To help artists prepare for the digital submission process, workshops will be held at FEC on September 11 and 12. Workshop registration runs through August 26. Space is limited so please register early.

Registration forms are available online or at the Florence Events Center, Digital Dunes Photography, and the Siuslaw Library. Cost is $25. The workshop session is two hours long. Scheduled times are 9 - 11 a.m., 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., 2 - 4 p.m., and 4 - 6 p.m. on both days.

This celebration of Christmas begins the day after Thanksgiving with the opening of our most popular event, The Christmas Festival of Lights. With over 500,000 lights, 150 choral performances, a petting zoo, carolers, puppet shows and hot chocolate this is a special event for the whole family.

$8.00 general admission, $4.00 children ages 3 – 12, 2 & under are admitted free

Wine Country Thanksgiving
Willamette Valley

More than 150 wineries will open their doors to kick off the winter wine tasting season. Many of these wineries are not open at any other time during the year. Festivities include tasting of new releases and older vintages, barrel tastings, specialty foods and sales of limited quantity wines. Some wineries have live music and tasting fees vary by winery. Winemakers and owners will personally greet their guests.
